Canterbury Congreso Team Brings Home First Place

The Canterbury Spanish Congreso team traveled to Orlando March 9-11 for the annual Florida State Spanish Competition.
The team brought home over 15 individual awards, including first place overall as a team out of 30 schools! Senior Lara K. '23 won the senior essay writing for their division.

The Florida State Spanish Competition is an annual competition for high school Spanish students, giving them an opportunity to compete in the fields of poem recitation, senior essay writing, impromptu speech, and dramatic presentations.

"I am so proud of each and every one of them and how they represented Canterbury," said Dr. Mary Smith, World Languages Department Head. "It is a testament to all the hard work they have put in all year long."
