Fourth Grade Entrepreneurs Present Solutions to Allen Park

Fourth grade wowed Allen Park Elementary School's principal, Melissa Booth, with their year-end entrepreneur presentations where they presented her with solutions to several of the school's issues.
Allen Park's fourth and fifth grade gifted students tasked the Cougars with finding creative solutions for Allen Park's outdated blinds, more inclusive play for handicap students, and ways to keep bathrooms tidy and clean.

The fourth graders did not disappoint.

"I was blown away with what these fourth graders presented me," said Mrs. Booth. "Some of these solutions I can implement right away."

Students found budget-friendly window film to offset the cost of replacing all blinds and suggested a sensory path in place of an expensive playground with ramps. They also made great suggestions for the bathroom, including: installing hand dryers instead of paper towels that were clogging the fixtures, and use of students' artwork on the walls so they could take ownership and feel a sense of pride.

Way to go, fourth grade! We can't wait to see how your ideas come to life at Allen Park.
