Olivia H. ’24 Wins Love, Goodwill, and Trust Essay Award

Congratulations to Olivia H. ’24 on recently winning the Love, Goodwill, and Trust Essay Award.
New this school year, the purpose of this essay competition is to encourage students to reflect on the core values of Canterbury. In addition, the competition aims to foster student growth in communication and expression. For the competition, students were asked to write an essay reflecting on what the school’s core values of Love, Goodwill, and Trust mean to them.

In her essay, Olivia shares, “Love, goodwill, and trust are important values for every stage of life. Canterbury establishes these values in its students from the beginning of their time at the school. These values are seen all across the community, in the faculty, students, and family of Canterbury. They are values that Canterbury students will use to impact others they will meet in their future schooling and careers. They will pass them on to future generations and make the world a better place. These three life values of love, goodwill, and trust are an important part of what makes our school so great.”

Dr. Collins presented Olivia with the award for her winning essay during assembly on May 22, 2023. The award includes a $500 Canterbury credit for tuition and/or activities.

Congratulations also to Kat S. ’24 for receiving an honorable mention for her essay submission.
