Eight Inducted into Cum Laude Society

On Monday, April 3, 2017, eight Canterbury seniors were inducted into the Canterbury Chapter of the Cum Laude Society.
Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society is dedicated to honoring scholastic achievement in secondary schools. Opening the ceremony was Head of Upper School Carl Melamet, who welcomed the students before introducing Head of School Rick Kirschner as the keynote speaker. Mrs. Mary Vollmer and Dr. Ron Young introduced the following students, officially inducting them into the 2017 Cum Laude Society:

The ceremony closed with a reading of Ithaca, by the Egyptian Greek poet Constantine P. Cavafy. Dr. Konstanin Georgiadis and Mr. Bill Loughran read the poem in both Greek and English.
