Upper School Theatre Presents "Home of the Great Pecan"
On Thursday, November 8 through Saturday, November 10, the Upper School Theatre students will present Stephen Bittrich's hilarious comedy Home of the Great Pecan.
The play debuted in 2016 and quickly earned favorable comparisons to other homespun comedies such as Almost Maine and Greater Tuna. Set in the real Texas hometown of the author, Seguin (pronounced Seh-gween), Pecan takes place in 1983 during the 102nd Annual Pecan Festival and Pecan Queen Pageant. Tragedy strikes on the festival's eve when the town's landmark, a giant Pecan dubbed "world's largest" goes missing from its place of honor at the center of town. When the truth about the heist is finally revealed, it sets off a chain of events that will go down in Seguin history.

Home of the Great Pecan is generally good fun for the whole family. Mild language and a bit of crude humor earn it a PG rating, but in general, the play is just a fast-paced and good-natured comedy. Don't miss your chance to meet the residents of Sequin November 8-10. Curtain time for all three shows is 7:30 p.m. As always, this production and all Canterbury School arts events are free and open to the public.
