American Sign Language Instructor

Canterbury School, a coed independent day school for 685 students in grades PK 3-12, seeks an experienced part-time American Sign Language Instructor to begin an American Sign Language program for Upper School students. Initially, this instructor would teach American Sign Language 1, an introductory course designed to develop the skills needed to communicate in American Sign Language along with knowledge of Deaf culture. In subsequent years, additional courses would be added so that students can take American Sign Language 1, 2, and 3.

A bachelor’s degree is required with coursework including instruction in American Sign Language. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter of intent, current resume, and a list of references to Erin Smith, Dean of Faculty at esmith@canterburyfortmyers.org.
