Hilliard Library

The Hilliard Library is a welcoming center of exploration and inquiry in the Canterbury Lower School with a collection of over 12,000 books, as well as access to numerous databases, e-books, magazines, and audiobooks. The library staff supports the Canterbury community in their work to develop confident citizens of the world. Parent volunteers play an important role in helping our library run smoothly.

Each class of students visits the library weekly for book selection, instruction focused on building library and research skills, developing a love of reading and literature, and furthering information and digital literacy. The library does not subscribe to systems that limit our readers. Instead, students learn methods for selecting the right books for them. We encourage our readers to follow their interests, to see where the process of inquiry takes them.
