Ms. Truesdale has been a full-time member of the Canterbury community since 1992. With a degree in music education, Ms. Truesdale has an extensive background in both choral and instrumental music. In addition to her musical expertise, she holds an M.S. in Reading and Language Development. She presents workshops throughout the country, particularly focusing on musical connections to reading.
Ms. Truesdale is certified in both Music (PK-12) and Reading (PK-12) in the State of Florida. She works with students, parents, and teachers using music as a tool toward phonemic awareness, reading comprehension, and fluency.
Ms. Truesdale loves to travel to expand her understanding of music and cultures around the world. She has had two extensive trips to Ireland and has toured throughout most of the countries of Europe and the United Kingdom. She had the privilege of spending the summer of 2014 in Japan while visiting her youngest son who serves in the U.S. Air Force. She also loves to take roadtrips across the U.S. to visit family and friends.
This past year, she became the Nana of Aria and has enjoyed spending time getting to know her! (Of course, Aria already knows several songs and loves to 'read' books!)
When she's at home, Ms. Truesdale enjoys reading, knitting/crocheting, watching classic movies, brushing up on her electric bass, and skydiving.
