Athlete of the Week: August 28- September 3
Congratulations to varsity football player Brenden D. '26 on being selected as our Athlete of the Week for the week of August 28- September 3, 2023.
The sophomore running back and defensive back had the game of his life last week as he helped lead the Cougars to a 35-28 win over Southwest Florida Christian Academy.
Brenden ran for a game-high 104 yards on four carries and two touchdowns. He also helped seal the victory for the Cougars with an interception late in the fourth quarter to thwart the Kings' drive.
"Coming into the season, we knew Brenden would be a player that would make a difference for us in games," said head football coach Vince Camarca. "His performance this past week is an early preview of the great things to come."
Brenden and the varsity football team are back in action on Friday night (September 8) as the Cougars host Oasis High School at 7 p.m. at FineMark Field.
