Canterbury's Sunshine Club is spreading sunshine throughout our campus and Southwest Florida community this holiday season.
The student-led service club has been busy these last couple of months planning and implementing service projects on and off campus.
On campus, students loved on our Lower School students by setting up a table at our Trunk-of-Treat. They also have their weekly 'Sunshine Friday' initiative where students conduct random acts of kindness and write notes of gratitude to share with teachers and friends.
For Thanksgiving, the group partnered with Crafty Ladies of Cape Coral to make cards for Cypress Cove and volunteered at the Gladiolus Food Panty to help distribute Thanksgiving dinners to hundreds of families.
And with Christmas upon us, some students will be volunteering at Valerie's House, a local non-profit dedicated to helping children who have lost a parent, to wrap presents.
"We have had so many students step up to be leaders this year," said Sunshine Club sponsor Sarah Waldau. "Our little club continues to grow and spread sunshine throughout our community and I couldn't be more proud."
