Since the beginning of the school year, teachers at Canterbury have been utilizing the Collins Writing Program to improve student performance through writing and thinking across the curriculum. The program is based on three essential principles:

1. Thinking and writing skills develop with frequent, meaningful practice.
2. Most students develop writing and thinking skills incrementally through a variety of informal and formal writing experiences.
3. Each of the Five Types of Writing™ serves a distinct instructional purpose that is easily adapted to student needs and differences between subject areas.

We are looking forward to seeing our Canterbury community for this special workshop. If you have any additional questions, please contact Katie Tanner at 481-4323 or ktanner@canterburyfortmyers.org.
