Athlete of the Week: April 28 - May 4, 2025

Junior right-hander Anthony M. showcased his all-around talent in last week’s regional semifinal series against Northside Christian, playing a pivotal role in the Cougars’ success both at the plate and on the mound.

Anthony went 3-for-8 at the plate, with all quality at-bats, driving in six runs, including a crucial two-run homer. On the mound, he was just as dominant, pitching eight strong innings and tallying 10 strikeouts.

“Anthony did it all for us this week,” said Coach Frank Turco. “He was a leader in every aspect - on the field, at the plate, and on the mound. Every time we needed a big moment, he delivered.”

Turco also praised Anthony’s consistency and composure in pressure situations. “What stands out most is that all of his at-bats were quality. He didn’t give away a single pitch. That two-run homer gave us real momentum, and he kept that same focus while pitching deep into the game.”

With a performance like that, it's clear Anthony was locked in and determined to lead his team to victory.
