Canterbury Welcomes First LIFT Speakers of the School Year
Canterbury students learned about the topics of entrepreneurship and mindfulness from our first two guest speakers for our Leadership Institute for Tomorrow (LIFT).
On Friday, September 8, Greg Parsons visited our Upper School Assembly to share his entrepreneurial journey with students. Parsons earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware. Always having a passion for all things involving information technology, he quickly determined that a 9 to 5 job wasn’t the life he wanted to live and started his own company in 1999 which he is still running today. Parsons talked about the importance of getting out of your comfort zone and exploring new things. Parsons and his wife, Eva, have two daughters who are Canterbury Cougars. Jessica is currently a sophomore, and Alexa graduated from Canterbury in 2023.
On Monday, September 11, our Middle School students welcomed Adam James to discuss mindfulness. James is a motivational speaker and leadership trainer from Naples, Florida. He founded the online community called Mindful Journey, a resource for people to “recalibrate and take care of their well-being.” Click here to watch the full presentation, brought to you by our Cougar Vision team.
