On Friday, September 20, Canterbury welcomed Matt Dolan as our first LIFT Speaker of the 2019-2020 school year. LIFT, or Leadership Institute for Tomorrow, aims to help our students develop their real-world leadership skills. Introducing our students to leaders in our community and beyond is just one of the many opportunities provided by LIFT.
The Canterbury School Arts Department would like to shine the spotlight on our Cougar Vision Multimedia Team of Alex A .’21, Tyler B. ’23, Sam L.’23, William M. ’23, Osa N. ’21, Valerie P. ’21, Lauryn W. ’21, and Jake Z. ’23.
Three Canterbury students have been named as semifinalists for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship. Emily Javedan, who graduated with the Class of 2019 and is currently a freshman at Johns Hopkins University, as well as Ingrid L. ’20 and Amelia M. ’20, both seniors, have been named as semifinalists for the 2020 award.
On Friday, August 30, students in both our Middle and Upper Schools gathered together for the beginning of the semester Honor Assembly. These assemblies provide our school community a chance to reflect on the significance of our school’s Honor Code.
Canterbury School will be OPEN tomorrow (Tuesday, September 3, 2019). As a reminder, we follow the guidance given to and taken by the Lee County School District when it comes to any closures due to weather.
