LIFT Speaker: Ms. Kerry Kennedy

On Thursday, February 6, the Canterbury community will welcome Kerry Kennedy to campus as a special guest of our Leadership Institute for Tomorrow (LIFT) program. 
She will be meeting with students, faculty, and staff in our Middle and Upper School in various venues throughout the day. Her visit will conclude with a special presentation at our Performing Arts Center.  

Kerry Kennedy is the president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, an organization that works alongside local activists to ensure lasting positive change in governments and corporations. Kennedy, the seventh of Ethel and Robert F. Kennedy’s eleven children, has devoted more than 40 years to the pursuit of equal justice, the promotion and protection of basic rights, and the preservation of the rule of law. She has worked on a range of issues, including children’s rights, child labor, disappearances, indigenous land rights, judicial independence, freedom of expression, ethnic violence, impunity, and the environment. She has led hundreds of human rights delegations and has worked closely with Nobel Peace Laureates.
