Canterbury Receives Most Individual Awards at Mock Trial Competition
The Canterbury Mock Trial Team competed in the Lee County Bar Association Mock Trial Competition February 11-12 at the Lee County Justice Center.
Of the six schools competing, Canterbury won the most individual awards. Mia A. '22 won Best Defense Attorney, Alexa G. '24 was named Best Defense Witness, and Daniel Z. '22 won Best Closing Argument.
"In my fourteen years of serving as the faculty sponsor to Canterbury's mock trial team, this year's group assembled the most polished performance that I have ever seen from a Canterbury team," said Mr. Ian Cross. "I will especially miss working with our graduating seniors, Mia, a mock trial competitor since her freshman year, and David G. and Daniel, mock trial competitors since their sophomore years."
Mr. Cross went on to express his gratitude to Jonathan Spellman '05 for spending countless pro bono hours with the Canterbury mock trial team and for having served as the attorney coach for the last five years.
