Jack P. '24 Donates Over 600 Wreaths to Wreaths Across America

Junior Jack P. ’24 is an aspiring Eagle Scout with a passion for our veteran community.
After Hurricane Ian struck Southwest Florida and cancelled a golf tournament raising funds for Lee County’s local Wreaths Across America, Jack took it upon himself to help raise funds to provide wreaths for local veteran headstones.

“It is more than about the wreath itself, but to remember those who gave up their rights as citizens and sacrificed their lives to defend our liberties,” said Jack.

Wreaths Across America is a national organization in which they “remember our fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach children the value of freedom”. Each December the organization designates a specific day in which it coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Ceremony, as well as more than 3,700 additional locations across the United Sates, at sea, and abroad.

On December 17, 2022, Jack partnered with a local group, Strength N Honor Charities, to donate over 600 wreaths to five local Lee County cemeteries. Over 100 wreaths were used this year, with the remaining wreaths being saved for December 2023.
