Lower School Rocks Hour of Code

Canterbury's week long Hour of Code event wrapped up on Friday, March 1 in the Performing Arts Center.
The Hour of Code, sponsored by Entech, is a small snapshot into the coding process taught within our Lower School to students in Kindergarten through fourth grade.
 
"Technology is integrated into virtually every part of our lives," said Ms. Stephenson, Canterbury's Director of Technology. "It is more important than ever that our students at Canterbury are prepared for the future."
 
This year's Hour of Code included eight different coding stations. Each station was filled with interactive learning from block-based coding to real-world coding languages like JavaScript and Python.
 
Exciting new additions to this year's event included: Kindergartens Lego Coding Express using color coding on train tracks, the Canterbury Country Club with Sphero Mini Golf Balls through Sphero Edu, and the 4th grade Lego League Competition Displays
