Cougar Track & Field Starting to Hit Stride

What a weekend it was for the boys and girls track and field teams, producing strong showings at the Lady Viking Classic and Edison Relays.
On Thursday, the girls track and field team competed in the Lady Viking Classic at Bishop Verot High School. The Cougars received many top finishes and personal-best times from newcomers and returners alike. The 4x100 relay team made up of Cheyenne M. ‘26, Ellie M. ‘25, Alex T. ‘25, Joslyne D. ‘26 raced to a 1st place finish with a school record time of 49.99 seconds!

  • 400m- Carlie M. '28 [10th Place]
  • 1600m- Gabby O. '28 [11th Place]
  • 100 Hurdles- Joslyne D. '26 [3rd Place]
  • 400 Hurdles- Joslyne D. '26 [7th Place]
  • 4x100 relay-1st Place [Cheyenne M. ‘26, Ellie M. ‘25, Alex T. ‘25, Joslyne D. ‘26] 
  • 4x400 relay-4th place {Ellie M. '25, Carlie M. '28, Cheyenne M. '26, Gabriella O. '28]
  • Shot put- Remy F. '26 [10th Place]
  • Discus- Remy F. '26 [9th Place]
  • Javelin- Remy F. '26 [10th Place]
"We are beginning to hit our stride individually and as a team," said head coach Dan St. Gean. "The coaching staff is proud of each athlete's efforts, personal successes, and challenging themselves regardless of the outcome."

The boys track team followed on Friday under the lights at the prestigious Edison Relays, hosted on the campus of Fort Myers High School. Many personal records were hit, including a new school record from Travis H. '25 in the 3200M (10:13). Other meet highlights include: Collin M. '25 finishing eighth overall in the high jump and Justin H. '24 finishing in ninth place in the ever-competitive 800M.
